On 25th September 2009, we had the First English Day Festival in the frame of the Knowledge Week.
This activity was another initiative that welled up out of my heart to improve the process of English acquisition in our school as a part of the bilingualism project I wanted to initiate last year. I put all my skills, knowledge, discipline, effort and prayers to make this dream came true.

the tird speech was by the coordinator of the First English Day Festival, Miss Laura Munarriz Awad, student from 10º grade, 
and the last one was by our Principal Sister Olga Pineda Zuluaga, who spoke about the importance of learning English.The slogan for the day was "Where there’s a will there’s a way" and the students certainly demonstrated that they, with my help, could organize the event in a responsible and participative way. The stalls were decorated according to the country they represented. Each country had one or more activities to show: sing along contest, role play contest, speech festival, memory game, word search puzzles contest, crossword puzzles contest, General Knowledge Quiz (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire), etc. Most students seemed to enjoy the day and a high participation rate was achieved. It was really great to hear our students making so much effort to speak English.
All participants from our school received a passport to travel around the world of English inside the school. Students seemed to find the activities stimulating and amusing and lots of spontaneous English words and phrases were generated, especially when they broke the ice, and started speaking with freedom.
